How to Build a Signature Color Palette

Color is the most personal element of interior design. It influences mood, impacts spatial perception, and speaks volumes about who you are.

Create A Mood

Balance bold hues with soft neutrals and tie rooms together.

We use color as narrative, creating a thematic story arc through color. This allows us to create a mood which transcends across multiple rooms, creating spaces that feel expressive, intelligent, and alive.

Artwork, books, and materials allow our Benedict Canyon project to evolve as you move through spaces.

To build your own signature palette, start by identifying colors you naturally gravitate toward—in fashion, nature, and art. Create a mood board (digital or physical) to test combinations. Think in terms of dominant (walls), secondary (furniture), and accent (art/accessories) tones. Balance bold hues with soft neutrals to create cohesion.

Texture, pattern, and materials provide pops of color and tie rooms together.

Play with finishes (matte vs. gloss), test swatches in morning and evening light, and don't be afraid to add a "wild card" tone for contrast. Your palette is not just visual—it’s emotional.

Our Benedict Canyon project evolves its use of color to evoke new emotions in every room.
